Follow your dreams

We always seem to forget that everything is so temporary. It crosses our minds once in a while and we might do something daring and out of comfort zone but when the moment passes, it gets stored away in the back of our minds and we continue living our lives as if there are plenty of tomorrows waiting for us.

Now, the real question is, when is the right time for you to take the plunge and pursue your dreams?
Why wait to start living your dreams?
What if there is no tomorrow?

We tend to postpone plans and dreams to another day, another week, another month, another year, someday!
When is 'someday?'
Someday is not a day at all. It's a blurry generalization of a time that will likely never come. Today is the only day guaranteed to you. Today is the day you can start to make a difference in your life and pursuing your dreams is what life is all about.
Don't wait until 'someday' because everything is temporary and FOREVER is an empty promise.
Make today the first day of the rest of your new life as there is no better time to start than right now.

So, what is preventing you from pursuing your dreams?
Often it's because of one or more of the following reasons:

  • Surroundings, circumstances, and society tell you exactly what you must do, who you must become, and why you must act a certain way. Finishing college, get a full time job, get marriage and settle down. But why? Why do so many people fall prey to this lifestyle? Don't live the dream. Live YOUR dream. Do what you love and follow your dreams. Whether it's a hobby, or a career. Ultimately, do what keeps you smiling at the end of the day.

  • You are afraid to fail. As they say, people aren't scared of heights; they are scared of the fall. You might think that you are screwed if it doesn't work out. WRONG! In fact, what is the worst could have happened anyway? The worst case scenario is that things don’t work out and you have to go back to doing exactly what you are doing right now. Win - Win.

  • You worry about other peoples opinion. My advice, STOP trying to earn other people's approval. After all, You are a unique person God has made you to be. Be yourself, rather than the person others think you should be.

  • You feel like you don't have it takes to pursue your dreams. WRONG! God would not have put a dream in your heart if He hadn't already given you everything you need to fulfill it. Work hard and do whatever it takes to follow your dreams and let God do the rest. If you'll stay in faith, your dreams will happen sooner than you thought and be bigger than you imagined.
